Choosing which vehicles a mechanic can see

Last updated Sep 25, 2026

If mechanics working for different drivers share your team, you may not want each of them seeing the others' setups and data. As the team owner, you can limit every mechanic to the drivers they look after.

How it works

You assign mechanics to drivers, not to vehicles — a mechanic follows their driver's current vehicle, so an assignment survives a chassis swap. Assignments only take effect once you turn off All mechanics see every vehicle; until then, every mechanic sees everything.

Assign drivers to a mechanic

  1. Open Settings → Staff and tap the mechanic in the People card.
  2. Under Assigned drivers, tap Edit assignments.
  3. Tick the drivers they look after and tap Save.

You can also work from the driver's side: open the driver's profile, go to the Garage tab, tap the Mechanics row at the top, tick the mechanics and tap Save. Both lists show the same assignments.

Turn the restriction on

On the Staff screen, in the Permissions card, switch off All mechanics see every vehicle. Each mechanic then sees only their assigned drivers — their vehicles, setup sheets, service history, sessions and telemetry — and the rest drops out of their app when it next refreshes. A mechanic with no assignments sees "The team owner hasn't assigned you a vehicle yet." in Garage.

Good to know

  • While the switch is on, a mechanic's page says Not enforced, and each driver's Mechanics row reminds you that all mechanics currently see every vehicle.
  • Coaches are never restricted. They can see a driver's Mechanics row, but only the owner can change it.
  • Only active drivers can be assigned. Whichever way the switch is set, mechanics never see drivers' contact or personal details.
  • With the restriction on, notifications and emails that name a driver go only to the mechanics assigned to that driver.
