Archiving and restoring a Team vehicle

Last updated Oct 1, 2026

Retiring a driver's vehicle in Team Garage doesn't erase it — Archive is the only way to retire one, and it's fully reversible.

To archive a vehicle

  1. Open the vehicle — from the driver's profile (its Garage tab) or from the Team's Garage tab and then its Details tab — and tap the edit (pencil) button.
  2. At the bottom of the form, tap Archive vehicle and type an Archive reason (up to 500 characters) — this is required, so anyone reading the history later knows why it was retired.
  3. Confirm with Archive vehicle. The vehicle leaves the Team's Garage list and moves to Archived vehicles on that driver's profile.

Archiving is also how you free up room for a new vehicle: since each driver can only have one active vehicle at a time, you'll need to archive the current one before adding its replacement.

Restoring a vehicle

On the driver's profile, open Archived vehicles, tap the one you need, and tap Restore vehicle. If the driver already has an active vehicle, archive that one first — the one-active-vehicle rule always applies.

Who can do this

The owner, coaches, and mechanics can archive and restore. If the owner limits mechanics to their assigned drivers, a mechanic can only do it for those drivers.

What sticks around

An archived vehicle keeps its full history — readiness, service reports, and photos, all of it — visible to staff under Archived vehicles, along with who archived it, when, and why. Nothing about a vehicle or its service reports can be permanently deleted; archive is the only lifecycle action Team Garage has.

A connected driver also sees their own archived vehicles under Past Team vehicles in their Garage. The page is read-only and includes details, service history, and the Tires section. Drivers cannot restore or edit the vehicle, and do not see who archived it or the archive reason. Tire inventory on an archived vehicle is read-only for staff too.
