Share a session file to LapperSnapper from another app

Last updated Sep 25, 2026

On Android you don't have to open LapperSnapper and hunt for a file. Share it from Files, Google Drive, email, or a chat app and it goes straight into the app — handy when a teammate sends you a session.

Steps

  1. In the other app, select the file and tap Share.
  2. Choose LapperSnapper from the share sheet.
  3. LapperSnapper opens (or comes to the front) and imports the file — no file picker needed.

What happens next

  • Driver account, or not signed in: a logger file (.xrk, .xrz, .drk, .ubx, .csv, .vbo) opens straight in analysis and is saved in Sessions. A GoPro video (.mp4 / .mov) goes through the usual video flow — see Import GoPro video with GPS telemetry.
  • Team account: the session is added to your Team and the Assign drivers screen opens so you can pick whose session it is — see Tagging sessions to the right driver. Video can't be shared into a Team account.
  • Either way, a Track conditions sheet follows — see Tag the track state after an import.

Good to know

  • One file at a time. If you select several files in the other app, LapperSnapper won't appear in the share sheet.
  • Share something the app can't read and you'll see That file type cannot be imported. If the file couldn't be copied across, you'll see Couldn't import that file.
  • Some apps label files in a way that keeps LapperSnapper off the share list. If it isn't there, save the file to your phone and use Import → Choose a file instead.
  • Android only, for now. On iPhone there's no share or "Open in" option for LapperSnapper yet — save the file to the Files app, then use Import → Choose a file. The web app doesn't take shared files either.
