Record with a RaceBox

Last updated 8 days ago

A RaceBox (Mini, Mini S, or Micro) gives you much higher-rate GPS than a phone, which means sharper deltas, cleaner corner analysis, and a more accurate racing line.

Steps

  1. Turn the RaceBox on and keep it near your phone.
  2. In LapperSnapper, open the Record tab and choose RaceBox as the source.
  3. Tap Scan for RaceBox. The app looks for nearby devices and connects.
  4. Once connected, start recording and drive your session. The live HUD and Drive mode work exactly as they do with phone GPS.
  5. Stop recording when you're done — the session saves to Sessions.

Importing RaceBox files

You can also bring in recordings as files: open Import → Choose a file and pick a .ubx file.

Tips

  • Bluetooth allows one connection at a time — close other apps that may be holding the RaceBox.
  • Mount the RaceBox with a clear view of the sky, as flat as possible.
  • If recording won't start while the app is fetching the device's stored history, let the download finish first.
