A GoPro that records GPS gives you two things at once: full lap analysis from the telemetry, and your footage with the data drawn over it.

Before you film

• Use a GoPro model that records GPS telemetry, and turn GPS on in the camera's settings before the session.
• Give the camera a clear view of the sky and let it acquire a fix before you head out.

Steps

1. Get the video file onto your phone (the GoPro app, AirDrop, a cable, or cloud storage all work).
2. In LapperSnapper, open the Import tab and tap Choose a file.
3. Pick the .mp4 file. The app reads the GPS telemetry embedded in the video.
4. The session appears in Sessions with laps, the track map, sectors, and coaching — same as any other source.

Watching the video

Open the session's Video tab to play your footage with speed, lap time, delta, and a live track map overlaid. See Watch your lap with a telemetry overlay.

If no laps appear

The camera may not have had GPS enabled or a good fix. Check the camera's GPS setting, and see No laps were detected in my session.
