My RaceBox won't connect

Last updated 8 days ago

Checklist

  1. Is it on and charged? The status LED should be lit. A flat RaceBox advertises nothing.
  2. Is it nearby? Keep it within a few meters while pairing.
  3. Is Bluetooth on — and allowed? Check the phone's Bluetooth is on, and that LapperSnapper has Bluetooth permission (phone Settings → Apps → LapperSnapper).
  4. Is another app holding it? A RaceBox accepts one connection at a time. Fully close the RaceBox app or any other telemetry app, then scan again.
  5. Rescan. Record → RaceBox → Scan for RaceBox. If it's still not found, power-cycle the RaceBox and toggle the phone's Bluetooth.

Connects, then drops

  • Keep the phone and RaceBox on the same side of the kart if you can; carbon and bodywork attenuate Bluetooth.
  • Phone battery-saver modes throttle Bluetooth in the background — disable them for a race day.

Can't start recording?

If the app is busy downloading the RaceBox's stored history, recording waits until that finishes — give it a moment, then start again.

Still stuck? Contact support with your RaceBox model and phone model.
