Sign out without losing data

Last updated 8 days ago

Signing out does more than end your session: it clears your LapperSnapper data from the phone. That's deliberate — accounts and phones get shared around a paddock, and signing out must leave nothing of yours behind.

What happens

  • Data that's backed up to the cloud is safe — it comes back when you sign in again, on any phone.
  • Data that is not backed up is permanently erased from the device.

The app protects you

If you have unsynced data, the sign-out dialog warns you exactly what isn't backed up yet — sessions not yet uploaded, deletions not yet applied — and offers to Sync first. Let it finish, then sign out with everything safe.

Before you sign out

  1. Open Settings and check the sync status card shows everything backed up.
  2. If you're on Free (no cloud backup), export anything you care about first: share the original session files off the phone (see Import a session file — the same sharing works in reverse).
  3. Then sign out.

If you're stepping away from a shared phone and unsure — don't sign out; just close the app.
