Record a live session at the track

Last updated 8 days ago

The Record tab captures your session live and gives you timing while you drive.

Steps

  1. Open the Record tab.
  2. Choose your source: Phone GPS or RaceBox (see Record with a RaceBox for pairing).
  3. Mount the phone with the screen on and a clear view of the sky.
  4. Wait for a GPS fix, then start recording.
  5. Drive. The HUD shows your current, best, and last lap times as you cross the line each lap. When the app identifies the track, lap detection uses the real start/finish line.
  6. Stop recording when you come in. The session saves to Sessions and is ready to analyze immediately.

What you'll see while driving

  • Free: current lap, best lap, and last lap times, plus the slip/calibration bar.
  • Pro: a live projected lap time and delta-vs-best, updating in real time. See Predictive lap time and delta (Pro).

Tips

  • Start recording before you leave the pits — out-laps are handled fine.
  • Keep the phone plugged in for long days; GPS and a bright screen use battery.
  • For a distraction-free view, switch to Drive mode: Use Drive mode (the full-screen HUD).
