The Channels tab: speed, RPM, and temperatures

Last updated 8 days ago

The Channels tab plots your session's raw data as traces over time or distance — the layer under every other view in the app.

What you'll see

  • From any source: speed, and the GPS-derived channels.
  • From a MyChron: the engine channels your logger records — RPM, exhaust and water temperatures, and the rest of your sensor set.

Steps

  1. Open a session and go to Channels.
  2. Choose the channels to display.
  3. Use the window toggle to view one Lap at a time or the whole Session.
  4. Scrub along the chart to inspect exact values at any point.

What to look for

  • RPM at the apex — catching the engine off its power band at your slowest corner is a classic gearing/line finding.
  • Temperatures across the session — watch water and exhaust temps trend over a stint rather than reacting to one reading.
  • Speed trace shape — V-shaped corners (hard brake, point, power) versus U-shaped (carried speed) show your style; compare against your fast laps in Compare.

For two laps overlaid rather than one lap's raw traces, use Compare laps and read the delta chart.
