Watch your lap with a telemetry overlay

The Video tab plays your onboard footage with your data drawn over it: speed, lap time and delta, an RPM gauge, a G-force indicator, and a track map with a live position dot.

Steps

1. Import a GoPro file with GPS telemetry (see Import GoPro video with GPS telemetry), or open any session — MyChron, RaceBox, or phone — and tap Import video in its Video tab to attach footage from Photo Library or Files.
2. Sync the video to the data if asked (see below), then press play. The overlay follows the footage automatically — the speed shown is your speed at that frame, and the delta compares you to your best lap at that same point on track.
3. Jump straight to a lap with the lap picker (it starts on Best Lap) — no scrubbing through the out-lap.

Syncing the video

A session built from a GoPro's own GPS data is in sync from the start. Footage you attach to any other session isn't, so the Sync video screen opens right after you attach it — and a Video isn't synced yet banner reminds you if you skip it. To sync:

1. Tap Sync in the video controls (or on the banner).
2. Under Sync to, pick a lap.
3. Drag the Whole video slider to roughly where you cross the start/finish line on that lap, then use Fine to land on the exact frame. The small map in the corner marks where start/finish is.
4. Tap OK. The sync is saved for that video on this phone.

Do the same if a GoPro video trimmed in an editor looks out of step with its data.

Good to know

Attaching video works in the phone app only — the web app can't import it.

Why it's useful

Charts tell you what happened; video tells you why. Watching the delta turn red at the exact frame you turn in early connects the data to the driving like nothing else.
